BBC DIY SOS - Barnet
In this latest episode we contribute by installing a water system into a refurbished home of a brave police officer paralysed in the Westminster bombings
Kris Aves had been at Scotland Yard to receive a commendation for his work as a police liaison officer on March 22 last year.
Had he returned to get it, he would not have been struck by speeding jihadist Khalid Masood, who killed five and injured fifty people.
He suffered two broken legs, multiple head injuries and spinal cord damage which left him paralysed.
He was unable to go home as his wheelchair would not fit in the semi he lives in with partner Marissa, son Thomas, six, and daughter Aeofe, four.
Months after the attack, Kris resides in Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury undergoing daily routines to help with his rehabilitation, unable to return to his north London home as it is now inaccessible to him and unsuitable for his rehabilitation.
Nick Knowles & the DIY SOS team planned how to get the hero officer back to his house in Barnet, North London.
See us at work to do another DIY SOS supply and install. Wednesday 7th March at 8:00pm on BBC One not to be missed!
