Underfloor heating adds thousands to property value

Recent research has identified the best ways to increase the value of a home and make it more attractive to potential buyers. One of the top tips is to add underfloor heating to bathrooms, as this can add thousands to the value of a home.

A report by sofa and carpet retailer ScS and We Buy Any House has revealed where to invest money in improvements that add both values to a home and make it easier to sell. One of the top recommendations is to install underfloor heating in bathrooms. The report says that this can increase a home’s value by up to £10,000.

Underfloor heating adds a luxury feel to a bathroom, as well as freeing up space, as no radiators are required. It also makes heating the bathroom more energy efficient. The report says that the cost of underfloor heating is between £1,000 and £1,500, depending on the bathroom size and material costs, but underfloor heating can add more value to the property than it costs to install.

Adding an en-suite bathroom with underfloor heating to a bedroom is another way to increase the attractiveness of the home. Underfloor heating need not be restricted to bathrooms, however. All rooms can benefit from the addition of underfloor heating.

Most rooms can be improved in a home. The report recommends adding a kitchen island, a new kitchen floor, replacing interior doors and building bedroom walk-in wardrobes.
