There are 4 different types of suitable system for Vinyl floors
Before choosing a system you must ensure that the subfloor is suitable, these would normally be either solid screed and concrete floors or joisted wooden floors with 18mm WBP plywood covering, 18mm floorboards/waterproof chipboard can be covered (providing they are sound and secured) with either ProWarm™ tile backer boards or 12mm wbp plywood (fixed every 300m).
There are 2 different options when using heating under vinyl type floors, either 100 – 150w heating mats or our loose wire system spaced no closer than 65mm between loops.
Foil Heating Mats
Our advanced aluminium heating mats are designed to be installed under laminate, solid wood, vinly and carpet floors (always check with the floor manufacturer first) they can NOT be used under glued down or nailed down floors.
Foil heating mats are suitable for any room, including bathrooms, kitchens, conservatories, extensions, etc.
The foil heating mats are 500mm wide and are fully earth screened utilising an aluminium foil covering, this means they can be installed in wet areas such as bathrooms & kitchens, in full compliance with electrical & building regulations, they have a power output of 140w per square meter. Must be installed as per instructions to ensure maintenance of the earth continuity. continuity.
PLEASE NOTE: these mats MUST be installed directly on top of XPS insulation boards together with the HeatPak dual overlay system.

2mm Heating Mats
Our ProWarm™ 2mm mat system is our most used system, the system use's exactly the same cable as the loose system except the cable spacing has already been done for you in our factory, therefore all you need to do is roll the mat out all over the floor until it's used up, the cable can be removed from the mat to shape into any awkward spaces.
This system is ideal for kitchens, lounges, dining rooms and most other areas. This comes in 2 different power outputs, 100w-150w.
Heating mats must be covered with a suitable 8 -10mm levelling compound first.
100w Mats are only used to take the chill off the floor and are not suitable for primary heating.
150w Mats can be used for most applications and are suitable for use as a primary heating source (providing adequate insulation is in place).
PLEASE NOTE: as with any underfloor heating installation it is essential that you have a good level of insulation beneath it to maximise heat output and reduce any downward heat loss.

Inscreed Heating
In screed cables are designed to be fixed to re-bar which has been laid into foil faced insulation (kingspan/celotex) and directly under a minimum 50mm screed, these cables are only normally used in a new extension or conservatory project.The cable is spaced out according to the desired wattage, normally a minimum of 200w.
In screed cables work differently to the other 2 types as they take much longer to warm the large screed base in which they are installed, for this reason the cable is much thicker at 6mm and produces an output of 17 watts per linear meter.
Once the screed has fully dried the vinyl floor can be installed in accordance to the manufacturers guidelines.
As with any underfloor heating installation it is essential that you have a good level of insulation beneath it to maximise heat output and reduce any downward heat loss.

2mm Loose Heating Cables
Our ProWarm™ 2mm Loose Cables are good for installations into small bathrooms or small kitchen area's with awkward fixed objects to work around such as curved shower trays, toilets, kitchen units.The cable comes as one long continues roll of heating wire on a drum and you have to space the cable out evenly over the floor, this offers the installer freedom to space the cable evenly no matter how awkward the room shape, the actual cable is rated at 10 watts per linear meter, the spacing of the cables determines the heat output ie.
Cable Must be covered with a suitable 8 -10mm levelling compound first.
6.5cm spacing between cable loops = 150w/m2
7.5cm spacing between cable loop = 130w/m2
