What’s Included in the Kit

The contents of the kit are determined by the options selected within the configurator. You can customise your system by choosing components such as thermostats (including smart and non-smart options) and other essential accessories. Detailed information on each component can be explored directly within the configurator before purchase.

Systems above 12m2 this will be supplied as two mats, systems above 24m2 will be supplied as three mats.

Why Choose This System

This ProWarm electric underfloor heating system is designed for ease of installation, flexibility, and long-term performance. The pre-assembled mat reduces installation time compared to loose cable systems, while the 4 metre cold tail provides greater freedom when positioning the thermostat and routing connections.

The lifetime warranty on the heating cable reflects the system’s build quality and durability, making it a trusted choice for both trade professionals and homeowners. Compared to wet underfloor heating, this electric system offers a lower-profile solution with faster heat-up times, ideal for retrofit projects.

Heat Output Guidance (Wattage Selection)

Choosing the correct wattage is essential for achieving optimal performance and efficiency:

  • 100W/m²: Suitable for well-insulated areas where the system is used as a secondary heat source.
  • 150W/m²: The most common choice for primary heating in standard residential spaces.
  • 200W/m²: Recommended for high heat loss areas such as conservatories or older properties, including Victorian homes.

Floor finish also plays an important role. Higher outputs should generally be avoided under laminate flooring and used with caution beneath natural stone, as excessive heat may risk stressing or fracturing materials with existing imperfections.

Suitable Applications and Compatibility

This electric underfloor heating mat is suitable for use in bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, and extensions. It is compatible with tile, stone, laminate, engineered wood, and other common floor finishes.

Most “underfloor heating compatible” floor coverings can be safely used when the heating cable is covered with an appropriate layer of self-levelling compound. Always confirm suitability with the floor finish manufacturer before installation.

Role In Underfloor Heating

The heating mat is the primary heat source within an electric underfloor heating system, delivering consistent warmth across the entire floor area. When installed with suitable insulation and controlled via a thermostat, it improves energy efficiency, reduces heat loss, and enhances comfort.

Installation

The ProWarm heating mat is designed for straightforward installation, with the cable pre-attached to a mesh for easy roll-out. The exact floor build-up will depend on the subfloor and floor finish:

  • Wood subfloor with tile or stone finish: Apply primer, install tile backer boards with suitable fixings, prime if required, then lay the heating mat. For natural stone, apply a self-levelling compound before tiling.
  • Wood subfloor with laminate or other finishes: Apply primer, install tile backer boards and fixings, then lay the heating mat. Cover with self-levelling compound before installing the final floor covering.
  • Concrete subfloor with tile or stone finish: Apply primer, prepare the surface as required, then install the heating mat. For natural stone, a self-levelling layer is recommended before tiling.
  • Concrete subfloor with laminate or other finishes: Prime the surface, install the heating mat, then cover with self-levelling compound before applying the final floor covering.

All heating elements must be fully embedded in a suitable adhesive or levelling compound to ensure safe operation and prevent overheating. Failure to fully encapsulate the cable may void the warranty.

It is recommended to order slightly less coverage than the total floor area to avoid placing heating elements beneath fixed furniture or fixtures.

All electrical work must be completed by a qualified electrician in accordance with current regulations.

Warranty and Assurance

The heating cable is backed by a lifetime manufacturer warranty, providing long-term confidence in the system’s durability and performance. This warranty applies specifically to the heating cable and does not extend to other components such as thermostats or accessories.

Technical Overview

The system features a high-quality resistance heating cable securely attached to a mesh mat for consistent spacing and efficient heat output. The cable includes a 4 metre cold tail for flexible installation and connection.

Designed to meet relevant electrical safety standards, the system is compatible with a wide range of thermostats and control options, enabling precise temperature management and efficient operation.
